Independence Day!

The Burnses love America, a lot.  It's one of the reasons we decided to get married so closely to July 4th!  So, of course we had a ton of fun celebrating the 4th of July this year!  My mom was in town which was awesome.  Max completely adores his YiaYia and she always adds to our fun and she does the dishes, too.  She's awesome.

Anyways, here are some of our red, white & blue highlights!

After a workout with Kyle, we enjoyed an Americana snack tray (inspired by my brother's "Snack Trayz").

Then, we hit the pool, which was so crowded, but so fun!  Max loves swimming and splashing around and playing with his beach ball!  He really is the cutest.

I adore my husband.

After our afternoon at the pool, we headed inside for Max's nap and to prepare for dinner!  Kyle grilled burgers & corn which Max proceeded to walk around with for the rest of the evening.  (He might actually turn into corn on the cob.)  We tried to take a family photo, but Max was barely cooperating.  He got super cuddly though, which I'll never complain about, and it resulted in the most awkward family prom photo as you'll see below.  I love it!  After dinner, we had s'mores because... America.

We didn't end up seeing any fireworks this year, whoops.  We took full advantage of our babysitter and went to see a movie (Independence Day) which we haven't been able to do in so long!  Those of you who have family babysitters on hand- give them an extra thanks today.  You're so lucky to have them!  Living across the country from our babysitters is hard.  It was so nice leaving Max with my mom and getting some alone time with the hubby.

A super grainy photo from the movie theater because we were so pumped to be on a date!

It was such a fun 4th of July, as usual.  I hope you had a great celebration too!
