Seize the Pool Day

There is something in California called "May Gray" & "June Gloom," so it's not always sunny So-Cal and we have been missing the sunshine lately.  (Don't worry, I won't complain too much; I know we are among the weather-fortunate people.)  Anyways, we finally had some clear skies yesterday, so Max and I headed to the pool at our new complex right after lunch!  I left all the dishes in the sink, Max's highchair was still covered in food (as was the 6 foot diameter of space underneath known as the splash zone) & toys were everywhere. Sometimes though, you have to leave the mess behind and just seize the pool day!  (I paid for it later when I finally tackled the mess I avoided all day, but it was well worth it.)  We splashed, twirled, jumped & ran around the pool.  Max threw his football about 7 inches away from us & we frantically tried to get it back about 342 times which produced the most incredible giggles.  After we got out of the pool, we hung in the cabana, sat on a bunch of different chairs (our complex has the most ridiculous amount of chairs everywhere) & "played" chess!  I loved every second of it because I love every second I get to spend with Max.  Seriously, every second.  He is pure joy.  Joy on two tiny legs that think they're faster than they are.  (Cue the spills!)

I hope you take lots of time this summer to seize the pool days, or sprinkler days, or slip and slide days or beach days!  Enjoy the sun, your kids & the gift that God gives us called SUMMER!

If you look closely, you can see his face still has remnants from lunch!
