Apple Picking in Lancaster
It's October 1st, & fall is in full effect... or so I hear. Living in San Diego has many perks, but one thing that makes me sad is the lack of fall. Sure, I could wear a sweater, scarf & boots, but I would likely end up drenched in sweat. I could drink a PSL and pretend it's cool outside, but sadly, I don't like pumpkin flavored things! So, until it finally cools off and I stop wearing flip flops (maybe in December), I'll live vicariously through my east coast Facebook friends and reminisce about the one fall day we experienced on our recent trip back east.
My mom and I spontaneously decided to take advantage of the one cool morning and go apple picking. Max and I had never gone, so I was very excited. So, my parents, my nephew, Stephen who had slept over the night before, Max & I packed some snacks and headed out to pick some apples!
Guys, I wore a sweatshirt and it was glorious! I did have to take it off eventually because it might not have been that cool, but it was wonderful anyways. Also, Max was clearly way more into eating apples than taking a picture with me.
The apples were a bit picked through, so it took a while to find one that was low enough for Max to pick, but when we did, he was so excited! The picture of him waving at me while he's picking his apple is one of my favorites. Then, after he had it, he said "back" and wanted to put it back... until he started eating it.
I was so glad Stephen was along for the morning. He had so much fun pretending to shoot the apples with his toy gun and helping with Max in the wagon. He's such a sweet big cousin. I just love him!
The whole apple-picking gang!
We made sure to check out some pumpkins before we left. It was such a fun morning with a few of my favorite people. Hopefully, it can become a tradition for Max and I and maybe Kyle can join next time too! (He was busy working and traveling to various parts of the country!) Happy Fall everyone!
